A native of Vancouver, British Columbia, Vivek Patel graduated from the University of Oregon with dual degrees in Business Administration and Economics and an MBA in Technology Management from Arizona State University.
Diving directly into the world of commercial Banking, Vivek worked for major financial institutions for 6 years, specializing in Financial Risk, Data Modeling, and Business Intelligence. Eventually settling into a role at Intel, as a Director and Financial Controller, driving their financial data, applications, governance, reporting, and analytics initiatives.
Currently Vivek is the Vice President of Enterprise AI, Information Security, and Global IT Operations for Ampere Computing. A company founded and run by Oregon Alumni, Renée James. Ampere invented Cloud Native workloads and has pioneered ARM based server CPUs, driving innovation and cutting-edge technology in an environment primed for radical technology change.
As an IT Executive, reporting to the Chief Information Officer, Vivek has increased his organizational responsibilities, initially overseeing Ampere's Data Management practice, and growing that to now include the entirety of Ampere's Global IT Operations, Information Security, and Enterprise AI strategy.
Marcus DelGado is the co-founder and owner of IDEL Associates, a dynamic business consulting enterprise that delivers customized solutions to achieve results for diverse customer needs based on today’s modern business landscape. Based in Seattle, Washington, Marcus thrives as a leader within the technology and entrepreneurial ecosystems. Throughout his career, he has successfully managed multimillion-dollar projects, demonstrating his knowledge of project management fundamentals. Whether ensuring budget alignment for new technology supporting NASA's Deep Space Network, managing wire design for the new Air Force One airplane, or developing and certifying avionics products, Marcus has a passion for using data analytics to create actionable plans. His engagement with international projects underscores his ability to collaborate with diverse, cross-functional teams to achieve strategic goals and objectives. With a proactive approach that seeks solutions to propel teams forward, Marcus leverages creative ideas to innovate and inspire future advancements.
From his first science project in grade school, Marcus has been passionate about science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education. As a first-generation college student, he earned a Bachelor of General Studies in math, and an executive MBA from Arizona State University (ASU), complemented by receiving the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity academic scholarship. Marcus also has a deep commitment to civic leadership that is inspired by a quote from Reverend Jesse Jackson, “Never look down on anyone unless you are helping them up.” Marcus is a multiple recipient of the Omega Man of the Year award and was honored during the University of Washington Black Student Union Legacy Soiree for his
contributions in the Black community.
In an executive role, Marcus has actively contributed to several non-profit youth development boards. As a board member serving the Omega Youth Leadership Academy, Marcus creates programming for mentorship, and the cultural development of teens to assist them with navigating personal and cultural challenges. In addition to his acts of service, Marcus holds the distinction of being named the City of Phoenix Man of the Year, along with receiving a NASA Team Achievement award. He has been featured
for motivational speaking and health care advocacy in publications like Desert Living, and ASU W.P. Carey Magazine. Marcus has also been recognized by the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) as one of the “Sexy” 50 Engineers in STEM. In his spare time, Marcus enjoys traveling, cooking, hiking, photography, working out, playing basketball, and snowboarding across the globe, all while continuously inspiring others.

Hector Dominguez is the Open Data and Privacy Coordinator at the City of Portland, Oregon and part of the Smart City PDX program. Hector is leading initiatives on open data, privacy, surveillance technologies, and automated decision systems, including AI, in the City. His work includes implementing open data strategies, technology impact assessments, helping agencies to implement privacy and information protection practices, policy development, and designing surveillance technologies strategies and procedures.
Hector is currently coordinating the implementation and public participation for the citywide surveillance technologies inventory and guidance and foundational policies and procedures for automated decision systems.

Congresswoman Janelle Bynum
Congresswoman Janelle Bynum is a working mom of four, small business owner, and former State Legislator who is working to elevate the needs and voices of Oregon’s Fifth. She knows that our voices aren’t being heard in Washington and she sees Congress playing political games with our livelihoods – that’s why she’s working to fix what’s broken and deliver practical solutions to the issues impacting our communities.
As the daughter of teachers, and as a woman of faith, Janelle learned the importance of working to strengthen her community at a young age. Before being elected to Congress, Janelle served for eight years in the Oregon House of Representatives, where she chaired the Committee on Small Business and Economic Development. During her tenure, she was known as a legislator who delivered strong bipartisan results, spearheading efforts to add $43 billion and over 6,000 jobs to Oregon's economy, invest in education, and increase access to the ballot box. As she did in the State House, in Congress she is fighting to create good paying jobs, strengthen public education, address the wildfire crisis, and lower the cost of healthcare, prescription drugs, and housing for working families like hers.
Janelle earned her undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from Florida A&M University, and her MBA from the Ross Business School at the University of Michigan. Wilson Smith III, Design Leader
With an incredible 41-year career at Nike, Wilson has left an indelible mark on design; from creating iconic footwear for Michael Jordan, Andre Agassi, and Nike Basketball to redefining the game with the 1996 Nike Air More Uptempo.
A graduate of the University of Oregon’s School of Architecture and Allied Arts ('80), Wilson Smith started his journey at Nike in 1983 as a Corporate Interior Designer, shaping showrooms, offices, and publications before transitioning into footwear design. Now, as he prepares to close out his groundbreaking career at the Swoosh at the end of 2024, we’re honored to celebrate his legacy and hear his insights on design, innovation, and inspiring the next generation.
Brett Brown, Director of Immersive Design
Brett Brown is a self-taught 3D artist, photographer, design director, and reality tv star based in Portland, OR. A lifelong autodidact, his career spans from working as a 3D artist in the video game industry for companies like EA Games to leading design initiatives at some of the world’s top footwear brands. He is currently the Director of Immersive Design at Nike, where he pushes the boundaries of innovation at the intersection of technology, design, and storytelling. Beyond his creative work, Brett gained worldwide recognition as a cast member on season 4 of Love Is Blind on Netflix. He continues to balance his passion for design and photography while navigating the world of content creation, having collaborated with some of the biggest brands in the world.

Megan Notarte is a technology team leader and the co-founder of AI Portland, a 1500+ member community focused on demystifying generative AI and its applications, organizing monthly events that bridge the gap between AI technology and practical business applications. Megan’s career spans roles in technology and management, including as a Partner at Cloud Four, a web design and development studio.
Nicole Mors is a product design leader, and with Megan, the co-founder of AI Portland and co-host of podcast (Super)charged by AI. She currently leads product design at Driveway, a leading automotive e-commerce site, and the Volunteer Director on the AIGA Portland Board of Directors, contributing to the growth and culture of the design community in Portland.
Shashi Jain is a Portland-based entrepreneur, innovation leader, and strategic thinker with a passion for transforming ideas into real-world solutions. Currently a Venture Partner at Seed Fund, Shashi brings a wealth of experience in corporate entrepreneurship, having most recently served as a Senior Strategic Innovation Manager at Intel Corporation. There, he spearheaded pathfinding projects in Healthcare, AI for Space, and Blockchain, leveraging methodologies like Lean Startup, Customer Development, and Rapid Prototyping to bring innovative ideas to production.
An expert in building frameworks for measuring and driving innovation, Shashi developed tools like the KPI Compass, Decision Quality Canvas, and the Startup Ladder. Outside of his corporate role, he is deeply involved in the Portland community—organizing the Portland 3D Printing Lab, 3D printing prosthetic hands for children through the eNABLE community, and teaching innovation and entrepreneurship to high school students through TYE Oregon.
Shashi is also the co-founder of Makerforce, a non-profit that mobilized Makers and Manufacturers to respond to emergencies like the COVID-19 pandemic, producing and delivering over 68,000 pieces of PPE at the pandemic’s height. Passionate about mentoring early-stage startups, Shashi continues to inspire and drive social impact through both his professional work and community contributions.

Juan Barraza's experience spans all facets of the startup trenches as a founder of a Digital Health startup, lead organizer of Portland Startup Weekend Latino, Co-Founder of Latino Founders, a professional organization empowering the next generation of Latino entrepreneurs, and former Director of innovation and Entrepreneurship at VertueLab. His passion for growing entrepreneurs is infectious.
Juan believes that entrepreneurship is a great equalizer in society and any individual with an idea or concept and strong work ethic can create a great venture with a direct economic impact on family and community. Juan Barraza is the Executive Director of Latino Founders In this role, Juan is responsible for envisioning, creating, delivering, and continuously improving upon the support programs offered to entrepreneurs.
Stephen Green is a “recovering” banker and venture capitalist. He got the bug for entrepreneurship early growing up in Beaverton watching both of his parents run their own successful businesses in technology before starting his first business during college. He is an award winning advocate for small businesses and founder of the nation’s largest pitch event for Black entrepreneurs, PitchBlack.
The event has seen more than 3,500 attendees over the years and has granted almost $1M to Black owned businesses. In his free time, you can find Stephen investing in and advising startups like his oldest daughter’s clothing business and trying to keep his son out of his sneaker collection.
Ameeta Agrawal, Ph.D., is a Computer Scientist with primary research interests in Natural Language Processing (NLP), Machine Learning, and Computational Social Sciences. Before relocating to the beautiful Pacific Northwest, she was a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Data Mining Lab at the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at York University, Canada, where she also completed her Ph.D. and M.S. in Computer Science under the mentorship of Prof. Aijun An.

Amir Armstrong is a Creative Producer at Wieden + Kennedy, where he uses sports and fashion as powerful mediums for storytelling and communication. With a knack for crafting unique ideas and transforming them into impactful creative solutions, Amir blends his passion for culture, style, and innovation to create memorable experiences.
He holds a Master’s in Communication Studies with a certificate in Entrepreneurship, alongside a Bachelor’s in Sport Science, giving him a well-rounded foundation to approach projects from both creative and strategic angles. Amir's ability to bridge the worlds of sports, fashion, and communication makes him a standout in his field, continuously pushing boundaries to bring fresh, dynamic concepts to life.
Corey heads the Outreach Marketing Program for Intel’s Commercial Segment, where he uses technology and other resources to accelerate innovation and drive impact while demonstrating that “tech for good” is also good for business. He has a 20-year career spanning engineering management and design team leadership, innovation coaching, quality systems management, AI competitive analysis, and startup portfolio management and incubation, having managed programs like the Aurora Supercomputer and Intel’s Startup Incubator.
Prior to Intel, Corey worked for NASA’s Space Shuttle Program leading engineering efforts across 13 successful missions – including frequent missions to the International Space Station and the last mission to service the Hubble Space Telescope.
In the community, Corey serves on multiple boards including the Oregon Innovation Council, Oregon STEM Board, the Evergreen Air and Space Museum, and is on the executive board of directors at the Urban League of Portland. He also runs the CreatorSpace, a program offering creative camps and seminars for youth of color to see and express themselves in the media they consume with a focus on comics, digital and traditional art, and writing.
He is the founder and principal consultant for TechQuity, which endeavors to elevate technology adoption, access, and proficiency in marginalized communities, through program development and thought leadership. He has delivered a multi-county scholastic esports league in Oregon’s most diverse school districts, developed STEAM related camps for youth, consulted on proof-of-concept technologies, and developed growth plans for STEAM-based community organizations.
He has a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering and a M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Central Florida and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University.
Joseph Wyno is the Executive Director of the Oregon UAS Accelerator, bringing over 25 years of experience in the founder and startup ecosystem both domestically and internationally. Before joining the Accelerator, he served as Senior Advisor and later Director for Octane’s LaunchPad SBDC Accelerator, one of the nation’s top non-profit tech accelerators. During his tenure, Joseph played a pivotal role in helping clients raise over $230M in capital, while also leading efforts that contributed to the creation of over 5,000 high-paying jobs in 2022 alone.
As an award-winning business development consultant, Joseph has a proven track record of building high-performance teams that meet precise business needs and capital objectives. His leadership style centers on a “people-over-process” philosophy, where he is deeply committed to providing personalized consulting, resources, and programming to help each startup succeed on its unique path. Under his direction, the Oregon UAS Accelerator is poised to continue driving innovation and growth within the unmanned aerial systems (UAS) industry.
Juan Muro Jr.
Juan Manuel Muro Jr, is the Executive Director at Free Geek and Coalition of Digital Equity. Juan and his team work to connect community members and community based organizations most impacted by digital inequality to digital tools and education they want and need.
Free Geek is an organization with a mission to sustainably reuse technology, enable digital access, and provide education to create a community that empowers people to realize their potential. Juan’s work on the field through Free Geek and CODE has enabled him and his team to build strong relationships across sectors to support digital access for community members. Also, his participation in advocacy efforts helped the Oregon Broadband Office secure close to 700 million in funding for broadband infrastructure in Oregon along with separate efforts which lead to the passing of Oregon’s Right to Repair legislation. His team also acquired the Digital Inclusion Network now known as the Coalition of Digital Equity, a group of organizations working to advance the region's digital equity action plan.
Outside of Oregon Juan sits on the board of the National Digital Inclusion Alliance (NDIA) an organization with a mission to advance digital equity by supporting community programs and equipping policymakers to act. Each year NDIA brings more than 1300 individuals together at NetInclusion to support digital equity initiated across the country. In partnership with advocacy groups and legislators the NDIA community helped get the Digital Equity Act of 2021 passed through a bipartisan effort. This added an additional 2.75 billions in federal funding to expand the digital equity work for thousands of organizations like Free Geek.
Juan is the Author of A Kids Book About Digital Equity. This book is helping kids understand ways they can participate in bridging the gap on the digital divide while learning about Juan’s rough upbringing and lived experience with digital inequality.
Dwindell Feeley
A first-generation American born in New York to Haitian immigrants followed by growing up in the foster care system, Dwindell Joseph is a lifelong advocate for marginalized communities. Beginning his career as a Project Intern at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Rockland County, he was recruited to move to Portland and work with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Columbia Northwest in 2019. Having a B.A. in Communications from SUNY Plattsburgh with a concentration in Digital Media Production and a minor in Business Administration, he has run his own digital media company, Dwins Designs, and has extensive experience as a community advocate for marginalized populations. While in New York, he created and directed programs for at-risk youth, court-ordered visitation programs, active in local committees such as the West Haverstraw Collaborative and AFFCNY (Adoptive and Foster Family Coalition of New York) Advisory Board, as well as being featured in several media appearances for his advocacy work and speaking at press events at both the New York State Capitol Building and the Rockland County Legislative Chambers.
Following the national unrest in 2020, Dwindell launched his own grassroots community nonprofit, Love Your Black Community, which has raised over $100,000 to serve over 250 Black individuals by providing direct assistance, black-led programs for black youth and resources like school supplies and Chromebooks while serving Beaverton communities with Free Fridges & Pantries providing food and supplies for low-income neighbors. After distributing 30 Chromebooks to Black youth through #LYBC and witnessing firsthand the impact of the digital divideʼs racial disparities, Dwindell came to Free Geek as Development Manager in September 2021, bringing not only his experience in creating and managing his own independent community organization but also his passion for using technology to help people realize their potential and bridge the digital divide.Herbert Beauclere, CEO and Co-Founder of Sneaker Week PDX, can be best described as an experiential marketer and educational disruptor. Early in his career as a marketing director, Herbert led several global outreach programs for the top 3 footwear brands. He is a dynamic force and wields an impressive track record of innovation and impact with every project he takes on.
With expertise in DEI program development, brand marketing, and creative consulting, he has demonstrated a commitment to fostering inclusive environments and pushing boundaries within the industry. Beauclere's multidimensional approach makes him a true visionary, driving forward progress and redefining standards in his field.
