About This Event

Dr. Daniel Yang, vice president of Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Technologies at Kaiser Permanente, delivers a lecture titled "At the Speed of Trust: Kaiser Permanente's Approach to Responsible AI." The talk examines how a large health system actually puts responsible AI into practice, covering safe deployment of models into clinical settings, what it takes to make AI systems trustworthy to clinicians and patients, and how to keep applications equitable as they scale. Dr. Yang's background includes practicing internal medicine and directing patient care initiatives at the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, giving the session a practitioner's view of where AI in healthcare delivers and where it falls short. This is the 34th annual Saward Lecture, a free public lecture series hosted by the Kaiser Permanente Center for Health Research. Doors open at 7:15 PM with the lecture beginning at 7:30 PM at OMSI in Portland's Central Eastside. Free; registration through Eventbrite.
