The weekly Code Freeze Fridays happy hour, this week indoors at Beermongers on SE Division. The format is deliberately unstructured: Portland developers, engineers and tech workers drift in across the afternoon, claim a table, and talk shop or avoid talking shop entirely. Because the weather has turned the group is inside this week, which unfortunately means no dogs. Food is available and attendees are welcome to bring snacks; the organizers suggest Los Gorditos or Bakers Mark nearby, and note that a popup sandwich shop opens in the back at 4 PM with QR codes on the tables. On the last Friday of each month the group shares a Scottish treat box from Wee Baking Company. Plenty of people turn up without RSVPing, so there is no need to commit in advance. A reliable low-effort way to meet other PDX technologists at the end of the week.
