Exploit Workshop is a weekly, open, self-driven computer security meetup held at CTRL-H, the PDX Hackerspace, and it welcomes people at any experience level. Attendees bring a laptop and work on whatever security project has their attention, whether that is a capture-the-flag challenge, a reverse engineering puzzle, a vulnerability write-up or simply following along to see how other people approach a problem. There is no lecture and no fixed curriculum; the format is deliberately unstructured so that newcomers can ask questions freely and more experienced practitioners can talk shop. Beginners are explicitly encouraged to show up and ask, which makes this one of the more approachable on-ramps into the Portland security community. The session runs in Section 2 of the hackerspace and is open to all.
