Locksport Meetup at PDX Hackerspace is a monthly gathering for anyone curious about locks, lock picking and physical security. Everyone is welcome -- bring yourself, your friends and your curiosity. Loaner tools and basic locks are provided, so no equipment or prior experience is needed to get started. The group treats locks as mechanical puzzles: attendees learn how pin tumbler and wafer locks work, practice picking and raking techniques, take apart padlocks and deadbolts, and along the way develop a much sharper sense of what physical security actually provides. Experienced pickers are on hand to coach beginners and to swap notes on harder challenge locks. Meets in Section 2, the main space you enter through the front door, at 7608 N Interstate Ave, Portland, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM Pacific.
