About This Event

The Portland Data + AI Meetup gathers data engineers, analysts, and AI practitioners around the Databricks platform and open-source data and AI tools including Delta, Iceberg, MLflow, and Spark. The October session features two talks. Karynn Jennings presents "Setting Your Agent Up for Success", covering how to prepare an AI agent to work effectively with Salesforce Data 360. Steve Moody follows with "From Legacy Code to Blueprint: Using AI to Drive Databricks Migrations", showing how GitHub Copilot in VS Code can be used to document a legacy .NET and Oracle system so that the resulting documentation becomes the blueprint for a Databricks build. The evening opens with a welcome and community updates, and closes with networking and refreshments. Food for the session is sponsored by VanderHouwen. The group is open to anyone working with data and AI in the Portland metro area, from newcomers to experienced practitioners. Free to attend; RSVP through Meetup.
