About This Event

The Portland Linux/Unix Group's general monthly meeting features Peat Bakke on the use, and abuse, of tmux. The talk covers the basics of how tmux works, how it can be put to work for both good and evil, and some of the stranger things people have done with it along the way, including the fact that tmux is Turing complete. The session is pitched to be genuinely useful for anyone just getting started with terminal multiplexers, while still being entertaining for longtime tmux users who think they have seen it all. PLUG has been running community meetings for Portland-area Linux and Unix users for decades, covering system administration, open source tooling, networking and life on the command line. Meetings are free and open to the public and are held in Room FAB 86-01 of Portland State University's Fourth Avenue Building at 1900 SW 4th Avenue. Bring your questions and your worst tmux configuration.
