UnlockedHacks 2026 is a free, student-run, 12-hour hardware and software hackathon for Oregon high schoolers in grades 9 through 12, organized by Oregon Unlocked, a student-led STEM nonprofit. Builders work solo or in teams of up to three and pick one of four tracks: Climate & Community, Health & Accessibility, Education & Learning, or Entertainment & Creativity. No prior experience is required - mentors and workshops run throughout the day to get first-timers from idea to working demo. Doors open at 8:30am, hacking runs 9:30am to 5:30pm, and judging and awards close out the evening. Projects are judged on technical execution, creativity, impact, and presentation, with over $10,000 in prizes on the table. Free food, snacks, and swag are provided. Registration is through the event website.
