An in-person gathering hosted by Computers Like Portland for exploring the open, free, human-made web together. The organizers pitch it as the antidote to doom scrolling alone: instead of isolation and echo chambers, people surf side by side and find real connection. Attendees can drop in for any length of time. The afternoon mixes web games, paired surfing with rotating partners, and group explorations projected on a large screen, with breaks built in throughout. Nothing needs to be brought, though a laptop plus an external keyboard and mouse are helpful if you have them. The event runs in Community Room 2A on the first floor of the newly reopened Belmont Library branch. Participants are asked to follow Multnomah County Library rules and the IndieWeb Code of Conduct. The organizers tag it as a small web and IndieWeb event, closing with the invitation: You Deserve To Be On The Web.
