Full job description

MULTIPLE POSITIONS AVAILABLE with Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. in Portland, Oregon. Own and maintain documentation and content strategy for AWS services, including information architecture, content standards, and publishing workflows.

Create high-quality technical content including API documentation, developer guides, implementation tutorials, and best practices
Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and service teams to translate complex technical concepts into clear documentation
Establish and maintain documentation standards across the AWS documentation set
Lead documentation projects for major feature launches, including re:Invent launches
Mentor other technical writers and review their work
Develop AI-powered automation to optimize documentation workflows and integrate generative AI tools into technical writing processes

Requirements

Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Technical Writing, or related field and 2 years of experience; OR Bachelor's degree and 5 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience
2 years of experience as a technical editor/writer working with style guides
Experience with content publishing tools, XML content, and content authoring tools
Experience writing developer-focused documentation for cloud services or APIs
Experience using generative AI tools to accelerate the technical writing process
