Full job description
Own the design and technical roadmap for object perception systems deployed on Digit humanoid robots. Hybrid; Salem, OR or other Agility offices.
- Create ML algorithms for multi-object detection, scene understanding, and 6-DoF pose estimation
- Evaluate and implement state-of-the-art perception models for robotics
- Establish best practices in architecture, design, and testing
- Optimize deep neural networks for efficient execution on embedded robot systems
- Work cross-functionally with navigation, manipulation, and hardware teams
Qualifications
- Experience with YOLO or Faster/Mask R-CNN architectures
- Prior work developing ML models for 3-DoF or 6-DoF pose estimation
- Publications in CVPR, ICCV, RSS, or ICRA
Requirements
- 5+ years deploying ML-based object detection on mobile robots; 2+ years technical leadership
- Proficiency in deep CNNs, multi-object tracking, data association, and pose estimation
- Strong math foundations in linear algebra, numerical optimization, and CV geometry
- Familiarity with PyTorch, OpenCV, NumPy, and similar ML/CV libraries
- Experience optimizing algorithms for CPU and GPU execution
- MLOps experience: data annotation, storage, evaluation tools, deployment
