Full job description

Architect, design, and develop debug tools solutions for next-generation Ampere products. Provide deep technical ownership and architecture leadership for a comprehensive debug strategy serving internal teams and external customers across datacenter, edge, and embedded applications. Hybrid role in Portland, OR.

What you'll do:

Architect and deploy software-based debug tools for custom 64-bit Armv9 SoCs and processors
Invent new debug techniques and tools for future products
Influence architecture and design decisions through debug tools expertise
Develop tooling for instruction trace, bus trace, and array dump
Develop open source JTAG, self-hosted trace, and debugger software
Perform pre-silicon bring-up of debug software on simulators and hardware emulation platforms

Pay range: $225,500 - $338,500.

Requirements

Bachelor's in CS/CE or related field with 12 years experience (or MS with 8; PhD with 5)
Proficiency with Arm architecture (Armv8-a/v9-a) and CoreSight
Strong C/C++, Python, and Bash programming skills
Experience with Arm Development Studio, TRACE32, OpenOCD, and GDB
Expertise in instruction trace, bus trace, scan dumps, and crash capture
Proficiency with git and software best practices
