Full job description
Provide technical leadership for FAA aircraft certification projects at Garmin's Salem, OR aviation facility.
- Coordinate certification aspects with the FAA, internal teams and customers
- Develop and certify complex STC designs and create certification plans
- Review compliance documentation; serve as project, technical, or certification lead
- Mentor junior engineers and support system safety document development
Qualifications
- Aircraft systems, maintenance, or modification background
- Pilot's license or pilot-in-training status
- FAA DER or ODA Unit Member authorization
- Project, program, and people management experience
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, or Computer Engineering plus 5+ years relevant experience
- Previous experience in avionics design, installation and FAA certification
- Demonstrated working knowledge of the FAA STC process and FAA system safety process
- Advanced knowledge in Electrical Systems, Structures, Mechanical Systems, System Safety, HIRF/Lightning, or Aircraft Certification
