Technical leadership in developing and certifying avionics installations with a specialized focus on systems safety, at Garmin's Salem, OR facility.

  • Coordinate certification aspects with the FAA, internal groups and customers
  • Develop and certify complex STCs; create certification plans and review compliance data
  • Support system safety documentation development
  • Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with customers

Qualifications

  • Aircraft systems, maintenance, or modification background
  • Knowledge of FAA regulations associated with system safety such as 23.1309
  • Pilot's license or pilot-in-training
  • FAA DER or ODA authorization
  • Project, program, and people management experience

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, or Computer Engineering plus 5+ years relevant experience
  • Previous avionics design, installation, and FAA certification experience
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of the FAA STC process
  • Advanced knowledge in Electrical Systems, Structures, Mechanical Systems, System Safety, HIRF/Lightning, or Aircraft Certification
