Full job description

Senior technical leader role within AWS Solutions Architecture, serving strategic retail, consumer goods, and restaurant customers.

  • Serve as the senior technical leader for one or more strategic AWS customers, extending influence across the wider customer portfolio
  • Own multi-year technical strategy for a customer portfolio or technology domain, spanning multiple teams
  • Advise senior customer stakeholders (Director, VP, CTO, and CIO level) on technical strategy and investment
  • Identify patterns across a customer segment and use them to accelerate innovation
  • Set technical standards for other Solutions Architects and lead reusable reference architectures
  • Help grow the SA organization by interviewing candidates, influencing hiring decisions, and mentoring senior SAs
  • Share customer feedback to shape AWS product roadmaps

Location: Portland, OR (also offered in Seattle, WA). Compensation includes base salary, sign-on payments, and RSUs.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of distributed systems design and implementation or equivalent
  • Knowledge of large scale automation and workflow management or equivalent
  • Knowledge of database design and implementation or equivalent
  • Strong presentation and whiteboarding skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with internal and external audiences
  • Experience architecting, migrating, transforming or modernizing customer requirements to the cloud

Requirements

  • 10+ years in specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering)
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent
  • Experience developing technology solutions and evangelising end-to-end technology roadmaps that guide IT transformations
  • Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences and at C-level, including training and workshops
