Full job description
Join the Vehicle Exterior - Hoods & Fenders Team within Product Engineering, responsible for design, development, validation, and launch of exterior components critical to vehicle safety, durability, serviceability, and brand identity across Freightliner and Western Star vehicles.
- Design components spanning fiber-reinforced composites, injection-molded and blow-molded plastics, and cast and stamped metal
- Work on hood outer panels, inner reinforcements, hood mounting and tilt assist systems, hood latches, fenders, and splash shields
- Develop, validate, and launch highly visible exterior components
- Embrace customer feedback and continuous improvement
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Product design experience with plastics, composites, or sheet metal components
- Experience with design validation and launch processes
