Individual contributor leading DevOps, Tools, and Infrastructure at Ampere - roughly 60-70% hands-on engineering and 30-40% technical leadership. Design and operate the CI platform powering a global developer organization. Hybrid role in Portland, OR.

What you'll do:

Design and evolve GitLab CI infrastructure; manage dependency infrastructure
Develop production-grade CLIs, services, and tools for CI workflow orchestration and artifact management
Provision and manage GitLab Runners and VM fleets with infrastructure-as-code, autoscaling, and optimization
Establish SLIs/SLOs for CI with observability, logging, and alerts; lead incident response
Author specifications and lead technical designs/RFCs for CI platform evolution
Translate platform goals into sequenced roadmaps

Pay range: $182,000 - $273,000.

Requirements

BS in CS/CE or related field with 8 years experience (or MS with 6, PhD with 3) in DevOps/SRE roles
Deep GitLab and GitLab CI expertise; strong Python
Solid Linux fundamentals
Observability and operations expertise (Prometheus/Grafana, SLOs/SLIs)
Technical leadership through designs/RFCs, standards, and mentoring
Infrastructure-as-code experience (Terraform/Ansible)
Database operations knowledge
