Senior Staff AI Software Engineer, Perception

Senior perception architect defining how Digit — Agility's commercially deployed humanoid robot — safely understands dynamic, unpredictable environments as operations expand beyond controlled work cells. Hybrid from any office (Salem OR, Fremont CA, Pittsburgh PA) or remote.

What you will do:

• Own technical vision and system architecture for perception systems enabling safety and efficiency
• Analyze architectural tradeoffs across sensing modalities, model design, redundancy, and compute budgets
• Stay hands-on prototyping and developing critical components
• Partner with functional safety and systems engineering on safety case strategy
• Support failure mode and hazard analysis at the system level
• Establish verification and validation standards for ML-based perception in safety-critical scenarios
• Collaborate across navigation, controls, and hardware teams; mentor engineers
