Full job description
Technical leadership role conceiving, developing and applying sophisticated avionics systems at Garmin's Salem, OR facility.
- Identify and document customer and regulatory requirements; design scalable systems for multiple products
- Create system requirements and architectures; lead collaborative requirement efforts
- Perform trade-off analyses, bench testing and complex troubleshooting
- Analyze system design, performance, safety and security; mentor less experienced engineers
Qualifications
- Previous systems design/integration with consumer or aviation products
- Operational knowledge of Garmin or competitive avionics
- Pilot's license or passion for aviation
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Electrical/Computer, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Computer Science plus 5+ years relevant experience
- Demonstrated expert knowledge and troubleshooting skills in systems integration, safety, requirements, or security
- Team-oriented with strong communication abilities
