Full job description

Develop video compression technologies and processing functions for AWS Elemental's video encoders, serving thousands of global video streams for millions of viewers.

Improve quality per bit in home-grown video encoders (VVC, AV1, HEVC, AVC)
Design machine learning components for video enhancement
Design and implement video processing filters
Collaborate with distributed engineering teams

Locations: Portland, OR or Santa Clara, CA.

Qualifications

5+ years of full software development life cycle experience
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
5+ years of video/image processing or compression experience
Experience with SSE/AVX2/NEON instruction sets

Requirements

5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language
5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems
Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team
