Full job description
Lead the Field Quality and Failure Analysis engineering teams with ultimate accountability for field quality, reliability performance, and fleet health across all deployed commercial humanoid robots.
- Own field quality metrics (MTBI, MTTF, ARR, issue escape rates, service ticket turnaround) for all shipping products
- Lead and grow a team of Failure Analysis Engineers; drive rigorous RCA and CAPA processes
- Establish rapid containment protocols for critical field escalations and fleet-wide failure trends
- Serve as the bridge between Field Operations, Customer Success, Hardware, Firmware, and Supplier Quality
- Host regular Field Quality Reviews with leadership, presenting failure Pareto analyses and CAPA progress
Position is based at the Salem, OR facility; up to 20% travel to customer sites and suppliers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Systems Engineering
- 10+ years in Quality, Field Quality, or Reliability Engineering in high-complexity hardware industries
- 5+ years direct people management of technical engineering teams
- Hands-on failure analysis of electromechanical systems (actuators, harnesses, sensors, PCBAs, BMS)
- Expert practitioner of 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, FTA, FMEA, Gauge R&R
