Full job description

Hands-on Robotics Software Engineer on Agility Robotics' Skills team: develop, test, validate, and integrate robot skills into real customer workflows on the Digit humanoid robot.

Build and maintain a library of production-ready skills
Script behaviors with behavior trees or state machines
Turn log-based failures into repeatable tests; find root causes and improve behaviors
Validate work in simulation and on hardware before release

Onsite at least four days per week in Salem, OR, with occasional travel (under 10%) to customer sites.

Qualifications

Experience scripting robot behaviors with state machines, behavior trees, or similar control logic
Understanding of manipulation, motion planning, and kinematics (e.g., MoveIt)
Exposure to test-driven development, automated regression testing, and CI/CD
Experience operating autonomous robots in customer or real-world deployments

Requirements

2+ years of relevant experience, including research and industry work, ideally on mobile manipulation robots
B.S. or M.S. in Robotics, Computer Science, or a related field
Proficiency in Python and clean code practices
Experience with Linux systems
Enjoys hands-on work with physical robots, not just simulation
Interest in autonomous robots end to end, from low-level control to high-level planning
Strong ownership of reliability and attention to failure modes
