Full job description

Assemble surface mount technology electronic sub-assemblies using robotic machines at Garmin's Salem, OR facility.

  • Load component feeders, enter programs into automated placement machinery and set up fixtures
  • Read shop orders, follow work instructions and hand-place components on circuit boards
  • Collect quality data, perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot machine issues
  • Maintain proper ESD handling practices

Shift: Monday-Friday, 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years assembly experience
  • Previous SMT Operator experience
  • Electronics manufacturing experience
  • Soldering skills (certificate preferred)
  • IPC-A-610 workmanship standards knowledge

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Previous machine operation experience or related production/equipment control experience
  • Ability to read and differentiate numbers in part numbering systems
  • Basic computer application skills (Windows, Oracle, Fuji Cam)
  • High dexterity and eye coordination; mechanical aptitude with attention to detail
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds and stand the entire shift
